Director’s Office |
In Progress |
This work has been placed at lower priority given schedule slip on the Project. However, we will return to it in early 2024. We plan to Start with a Technote (Program Ops) to guide development and implementation to the RAC. This would include a summary of the resources to be allocated (and how they are apportioned between the Google cloud, SLAC batch farm, and the IDAC network), a timeline for the resource allocation process (when it starts, and what the annual cycle looks like), the general composition of the RAC (and how it is refreshed), and any other high level conditions we want to put in place at this time. The initial technote has been started and is under active development. |

L2 - Deliver the LSST Cadence |

Director’s Office |
In Progress |
The Community workshop was held over two days in January. The SCOC and community set out to advance resolution of three of the final 6 remaining items for the final cadence (see ls.st/pstn-055). Task forces which reported on progress were (1) on the optimization of the survey strategy for the Milky Way sky, (2) on the assessment of the impact of rolling strategies on the uniformity of coadded stacks, and (3) on the DDFs intranight cadence. Furthermore, as planned in [PSTN-055|https://pstn-055.lsst.io/], the Observing Strategy team has updated the system throughput to reflect both measurements of the camera system and evolving plans for mirror coating ([https://community.lsst.org/t/baseline-v3-3-run-released/8042]). ToO allocation and implementation is the subject of a March workshop scheduled to take place in Berkeley. This remains on track with active development. |
